Who I am

I'm Oluwashola. I make software that feels effortless and holds up under real use.

A Product Engineer working where design, frontend engineering, and product thinking meet. I take an idea all the way to a live product, and I stay with it long after launch.

I didn't learn to build in a computer lab. I learned it under the hood of stripped vehicle harnesses and dead engines, following faults back to their cause long before I wrote my first line of TypeScript.

That way of thinking is how I approach software now: find a real problem, respect what the tech can and can't do, and ship a tool that works. Not just a screen that looks good, but a product someone relies on.

What I bring

Product thinking, design, and engineering, all in one person.

01

Product thinking

I ask why before how. I want to be in the room during discovery, understand the numbers that matter, and speak up for the user when the technical calls are made, not just close tickets.

02

Design and frontend

I design the interface and then build it myself. There's no gap between how something looks and how it actually works, because I own both sides.

03

Systems engineering

Mechanical systems taught me to see structure everywhere: how parts connect, where they break under load, and how to work almost any problem back to its cause.

04

Ownership

I ship, maintain, and keep improving. AltBase has been live and getting better every week. I take a feature from the first sketch all the way to production and onboarding.

The journey · Built, Not Given

From wiring harnesses to production web products.

I wasn't handed a path into technology. I built one, through mechanical troubleshooting, relentless self-study, and shipping real products. The full story is worth more than a summary.

The toolkit

What I build with, across the whole stack.

Design

Interfaces that get out of the user's way.

  • Figma
  • Design systems
  • UX research
  • Prototyping
  • Interaction & motion
  • Accessibility

Frontend

Production interfaces, built to last.

  • React
  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS
  • GSAP & ScrollTrigger
  • Framer Motion

Backend & Data

The parts users never see but always feel.

  • Node.js
  • FastAPI
  • REST APIs
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB
  • Prisma
  • Real-time features
  • Database migrations

AI & Deployment

Getting models and products into production.

  • Whisper fine-tuning (LoRA)
  • Hugging Face Spaces
  • Gemini API
  • Vercel
  • Render

Runner-Up, Zenith Hackathon

Hours to find a real problem, design the experience, build the frontend, and pitch a working prototype. Placing wasn't about the money. It was proof that the late nights had added up to real skill.

How I think

A few principles I don't break.

01

Build with purpose

Every feature should solve a real problem. If it doesn't earn its place in someone's day, it doesn't ship. A tight scope is a feature, and knowing what not to build is half the craft.

02

Design is communication

A good-looking interface matters, but a clear one matters more. The best interface gets out of the way so the person and their work are what you notice.

03

Get to the root cause

A wire either completes the circuit or it doesn't. I debug products the way I debugged harnesses: from the symptom back to the cause, patiently, without guessing.

04

Own it past launch

Shipping version one is the starting line. Real engineering is living with a system through its bugs, its rewrites, and its hard calls long after the launch buzz fades.

Why work with me

Product-minded

I care about the user and the business, not just the ticket.

Design and engineering

One person on both sides of the handoff. It looks right because I built it.

Full ownership

From wireframe to production to weekly upkeep. I don't disappear at launch.

Clear communication

I explain the trade-offs, not just the decision, and I reply fast.

Steady speed

Fast iteration with real care for the structure. Scarcity taught me focus.

Systems thinking

Trained on mechanical systems, brought into software. Root cause over guesswork.

Let's build something worth remembering.

An MVP that needs shipping, a product that needs rethinking, or a team that needs an engineer who thinks like a designer. I'd love to hear about it.
